The first game Reese ever owned for the Playstation, King's Field is a dungeon crawling series by the same studio that would eventually make Dark Souls, and the game will let you know it by rewarding your constant searching for hidden doors with a sudden spear to the throat.

The games do NOT hold your hand in any way; You put this game in, you either bring the pain, or the game will hand you your ass, end of story.

This was a crossover stream with another content creator.

Day 1: Reese gets established, and saves a child.

2025 EDIT: This was run on EPSXE, one of the leading emus at the time, and I was at the time bound by the default control scheme. King's Field, Armored Core, and other FROMSOFT games for the PS1 were designed with the default PS1 controller, in which analog control wasn't a thought yet. L1 and R1 strafed, and L2 and R2 looked up and dopwn, respectively. This makes a fully-3D first-person game awkward to play, along with other 1st and 2nd generation PS1 games.

Eventually, developers were taking full-advange of dual-shock controls, and the Dual Shock controller ultimately became the Playstation Standard. Microsoft and even Nintendo would follow suit with their standard controllers when designing and developing consoles, going forward.
