The Shepherds Understood What Scholars Still Miss

The shepherds, simple and uneducated, understood the significance of the newborn child, Jesus, who was the savior, Christ, and Lord. This understanding, beyond human comprehension, was a gift of grace, allowing them to perceive the divine nature of the child, despite his humble appearance. The sign of the swaddling clothes pointed to the fulfillment of the angel’s message.

The understanding of the child is not just intellectual, but heartfelt. He is a gift from God, given out of love.
