“Negotiating With Chaos”

Here I am trying to explain to Chaos why he can’t go in the woods with the other dogs. His tracking collar quit, and the last thing I want is to spend all night trying to find a 6-month-old Treeing Walker pup who thinks he’s Superman. 😅

Let me tell you… negotiating with a young hound who’s BORN to hunt is not as easy as it sounds.

He pouted.
He protested.
He told me all about his feelings. 🐶💬

But the good news?
Three minutes later, his collar was swapped out and Chaos was back in the woods doing exactly what he loves.

And for anyone who thinks we “force” our dogs to hunt…
For anyone who repeats the lie that we starve our dogs…

He’s upset because I wouldn’t let him hunt.
These dogs live for the chase — it’s not something we make them do… it’s who they are.
