Romancing Saga: Minstrel Song Remastered | One of the Greatest JRPGs

My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check out a a true hidden gem with Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered on the Playstation. This game was developed by Red Art Games, who released the fantastic Skautfold series which ive also reviewed, and was published by Square Enix, who are responsible for the greatest JRPG series of all time Final Fantasy.

Romancing Saga Minstrel Song Remastered updates the original Romancing Saga Minstrel Song which was originally released in Japan on the Famicom, making this masterpiece available for Western Audiences. The game takes place in the fictional world of Mardias, following a battle between the gods was ended by a band of heroes. When the evil god Saruin returns to Mardias to reignite the fires of war it is up to a new band of heroes to unite and prevent another catastrophe.

Romancing SaGa is an incredibly original take on the JRPG. Rather than having a focus of combat and player levelling, the game encourages an alternate approach. The world progresses according to the players actions and the decisions they make, so they will need to be selective in which battles to partake in, what factions they ally themselves with and which quests to complete. There are eight playable characters that you can choose from, each with their own unique story arc.

Romancing Saga: Minstrel Song Remastered is an essential purchase for JRPG fans. It features a gigantic campaign with hundreds of hours of gameplay. More importantly its unique approach to gameplay offers an experience that stands out from other JRPGs and RPGs in general
