Synopsis
Deputy Marshal Luke Welsh (Charles Bronson) rides into a small town on the trail of a wanted murderer named Con Maynor. Welsh kills Maynor in a fair gunfight, but the townspeople, who liked Maynor and were unaware of his criminal past, refuse to identify the body. This prevents Welsh from collecting the $200 bounty and forces him to remain in town. While he waits for an official identification, he faces the animosity of the locals and the arrival of Maynor's brother, who wants to settle the score. Welsh also develops a relationship with a local woman, Jill Crane (Carole Mathews), and her daughter Sally (Fintan Meyler), which challenges his isolated lifestyle.
