Hey everyone — it’s Leaflit! Today I’m reacting to a video by Hero Hei titled “Blue Archive just Destroyed Connor (CDawgVA)” — about the recent drama surrounding Blue Archive’s canceled sponsorship campaign involving creators like Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun, Gigguk, Ironmouse, and Zentreya.

Blue Archive announced an influencer campaign tied to a Twitch Drops event, but the community backlash was instant and massive — especially because many fans felt the selected creators didn’t actually understand or appreciate the game and that it seemed out of touch with the core fanbase’s culture and expectations. One of the biggest points of contention was that Connor has openly expressed dislike for the style of content Blue Archive is known for, making his involvement feel hypocritical and misaligned with the community.

Within hours, Blue Archive’s official team deleted the announcement and canceled the collaboration entirely, issuing an apology and saying they would be more mindful of feedback and better match future campaigns with what fans expect.

Blue Archive acted the right way. They listened to their Sensei community — not just blindly pushing a corporate campaign. That’s how you build trust with players, not alienate them.

Connor’s acceptance was questionable. If you’re tapped to represent a game in an official campaign yet have a history of disliking its core style or characters, it comes off as hypocritical — like taking the money without genuinely engaging with what the game stands for.

Fans influencing decisions isn’t a bad thing. The backlash showed how passionate the community is about their game — and that developers who appreciate that passion are willing to adjust and listen.

I’m supportive of Blue Archive for listening and responding quickly, and critical of creators who jump into campaigns that aren’t aligned with the community they’re being asked to represent.
