The Book of 2 John Chapter 1

In 2 John 1, John addresses the letter to the elect lady and her children, which may symbolize a local church or may be literal. He expresses joy in finding some of her children walking in the truth and emphasizes the commandment to love one another. This love, John writes, means walking according to God’s commandments. He also warns against deceivers and antichrists who deny that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. He exhorts the recipients of the letter to watch themselves so that they do not lose what they have worked for, but may instead receive a full reward. John advises not to welcome or support anyone who does not bring the teaching of Christ.
