Ebert & Roeper: 4-12-02

Note: Now in Better Quality than the last one. Also, I hated it at the time when one movie that was supposed to be the first review ends up at the last. It's almost like they want to hype it up so much, we have to wait until the reveal. This is not the Tribune series, "At The Movies with Siskel & Ebert" where they preview the main film and rotate to the actual start of another movie.

Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper reviews "Changing Lanes" (I never understand why critics especially these two praised this mess, it's an overwrought drama about two men crossing paths and having revenge of each other in New York. Ben Affleck is just awful and truly miscast and Samuel L. Jackson is stuck in the same "Jules" persona but more edgier.); "The Sweetest Thing" (A Horrible Dark Romance Road Trip Comedy with Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair.); "Frailty" (Now this is an incredible dark and gruesome Horror thriller from director, Bill Paxton who also stars in the film with Matthew McConaughey.); "Human Nature" and "The Cat's Meow" (Terrific '20s style Period Romantic Comedy with Kirsten Dunst.)

Also, "Thumbs Up Video" segment where Roeper's pick is "Mulholland Drive" from the late, great surrealistic filmmaker, David Lynch who passed away this year, 2025. And Ebert's picks are "Dick Tracy" (1990) and "Joe Versus The Volcano" as a tribute to production designer, Richard Sylbert. And a recap of Today's program!
