ORTHODOX AND LIBERTARIAN: CAN IT BE POSSIBLE?

Welcome to today’s podcast, where we explore the dynamic interplay between Orthodoxy and libertarianism with our guest,
@OrthoDoof
On X, OrthoDoof describes himself as a former libertarian who has stepped back from some of those views due to his deepening Eastern Orthodox faith.

I come from a Romanian background, he is a proud Texan, what could go wrong? Well nothing because we are both Christian Orthodox and we had a very good and civil conversation.

Orthodoxy I do not think is more compatible in the matter of government than a right wing conservative form of libertarianism. I know is kind of contradicting, as conservatives needs a form of government to maintain their political power, but in the same time I see specially in Romania, a strong stance of the government to oversize control on our lives. It kind of makes me wonder if we are not going back to another form of Marxist dictatorship.

I am not a believe of Anarchy, even though we know God s kingdom is not on this planet, but I think it is not a major contradiction between Orthodoxy and libertarianism in the matter of politics and economy, and such for this reason I invite you to watch this podcast and let me know how you feel about it.
