Preparing My Kids for My Eventual Cognitive Decline

We all grow old, and senile.

Which is sad, but such is life.

The best thing you can do is Boy Scout yourself for the future: be prepared.

I’ve begun preparing my kids for my eventual decline, which, if we’re being honest, they probably won’t notice, given how close to the cognitive bottom I already am.

But, there’s always a bottom, and then a basement, and then a sub-basement, and then ten stories dug deep into the earth, where the worst of the worst dwell.

If I ever suffer a traumatic brain injury and lose any ounce of intelligence I have, maybe I’ll end up there.

And Fox News will be waiting for me, with arms wide open.

(Hopefully I’ll never go so crazy as to start listening to Creed. Ugh.)
