CS #372 Fingerprints Don't Lie

is a 1951 American crime drama directed by Sam Newfield. The film explores the fallibility of forensic evidence when a "perfect" match is used to frame an innocent man.
Plot Overview
When the reformist Mayor Wendell Palmer is murdered with a telephone, forensic investigator James Stover (Richard Travis) provides expert testimony that convicts Paul Moody (Richard Emory) of the crime. Although Moody’s fingerprints were found on the murder weapon, he maintains his innocence. Stover begins to doubt his own forensic proof after a local journalist and the mayor's daughter, Carolyn Palmer (Sheila Ryan), urge him to re-examine the case. Stover eventually uncovers a conspiracy involving forged evidence and corrupt officials.
