70% of Christians Worldwide Are Missing Out

‭We read in 2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‭-‬17‬, that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

As followers of Christ, the bible is THE root source of our learning and training in the Lord. God provides His word to equip us. It is our personal users manual for our life. And since it is GOD’S ’s word, it is a complete and perfect teaching...lacking nothing.

While we understand that God's written word is a precious gift to the world, less than 30% of Christians worldwide have read through the ENTIRE Bible at least once.

Did you know that the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, points us to Jesus Christ? Even from the very first letter of Genesis? The first word in Genesis in Hebrew is "Beresheet" which means "in the beginning". The first letter of Beresheet is "bet". The last word of Revelation is "Amen", ending in the Hebrew letter "nun". These two Hebrew letters, which bookend the entire Bible, spell "ben" in Hebrew which means "son". Wow! Isn't that amazing?!

From the first letter to the last letter, it all points to the Son, Jesus Christ. This is perfectly reflected in Revelation 22:13 where our Savior tells us: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."

Jesus is literally the beginning and end of the bible starting with the very first letter in Genesis 1:1. And he is woven everywhere in-between. If we want to get to know Jesus more deeply and more intimately, we have to know the WHOLE story, not just part of it.

If we dig deeper and embrace his ENTIRE story found in Genesis to Revelation, we will develop a stronger and closer relationship with our Messiah, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to the fact that the whole bible points to Jesus, the Word itself IS Jesus as we read in John 1:1-3,

‭"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."

‭and we continue in verse 14,
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Jesus IS the Word. Jesus is not dead. He is resurrected. Jesus, the Word, is alive which gives significant meaning to Hebrews 4:12 where it teaches us that "the word of God is alive and active. ‭Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

Jesus, himself, is moving in our lives through scripture. He is actively working in our lives and is actively speaking to us through scripture.

We read in ‭Revelation 19:13,
"He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God."

The Greek translation of "word", which we have read in Hebrews 4, John 1 and Revelation 19, is "logos" which means "the Divine word".

Isn't it amazing to know that within the written words of the bible is the power of Jesus? The life of Jesus? The light of Jesus? Jesus is in every jot and tittle of word from Genesis to Revelation. He was there in the very beginning.

It brings a whole new perspective to David's words in ‭Psalms 119:105,
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

Jesus, the light of the world, is THE LIGHT on our path.

Reading the Bible from beginning to end might feel intimidating or overwhelming. Some find it easier to begin reading about Jesus's time on earth which is found in the 4 Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...and perhaps continue reading on into Acts and Romans before starting from the very beginning at Genesis.

As we read through the bible, we may feel that we don't quite understand what is being communicated in the word, but as we prayerfully seek God's Word, the Holy Spirit will guide us and open the door to understanding it...just Jesus teaches in Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

So let us get to know the WHOLE story about our Savior and read the entirety of the bible. Let us take time EACH DAY to sit with our great teacher as we read His Word and open ourselves to being led by the Holy Spirit. The Lord tells us in ‭Psalms‬ ‭32:8‬,

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

As we follow His lead, we will discover the WHOLE story and develop a closer connection to the Word...who was with God from the beginning before creation, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
