Illegal Immigrant Licensed Truck Driver Causes Deadly Crash

An illegal immigrant with a fraudulent California commercial driver's license (CDL) caused a fatal crash that killed a Washington state father of two. Kamalpreet Singh, 25, crossed the border illegally in December 2023, received a work permit, obtained a California CDL, and was hired by a trucking company. On December 11, 2024, Singh's 2020 Freightliner Cascadia struck Robert Blake Pearson's vehicle on State Route 167, killing him instantly. Despite an ICE detainer, King County sanctuary policies led to Singh's release. He is now a fugitive. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons explains the enforcement failures that cost American lives.
