KAC Magic: DB-15 Knights Armament Collaboration

Diamondback Firearms has been making compact pistols for a quite a while now. I know they got into the AR-15 business but I kinda ignored them. I was absolutely wrong to do that. From a build quality standard the DB-15 is every bit the peer of Colt, Armalite and Bushmaster (the old Bushmaster before Remington and freedom group ruined everything [RIP ACR, we never truly knew you]) and I would put it toe to toe with FN, Smith and Wesson, Sig Sauer and Springfield Armory. When I saw that Diamondback was in a deal to get Knight's Armament cold hammer forged chrome line barrel blanks I was in disbelief. But I knew I had to get one to test. Over the 750 rounds that I ran through the DB-15 KAC about two thirds were with the Dead Air Lazarus 6 installed. The base DB-15 KAC has mil spec trigger, safety, A2 Birdcage muzzle break and charging handle from the factory, all of with was completely acceptable. Except for the trigger. It was heavy, 6.5 lbs and the pull was atrociously long. Thankfully Trigger Tech sent me a trigger to test and it went in along with the Rise Armament extended Charging handle, and their "Nice" 69 degree throw ambi safety. With the Trigger tech installed accuracy was excellent with groups from Federal 77gr Center Strike coming in at 1.6 inches (odd for this round as I have several semi-autos that love it) With Hornady 73gr HPBT Match I saw 1.25 inch groups (this rifles preferred ammo) and then with Federal 69gr (Nice...) Sierra Matchking, I had 1.3 inch groups. the trigger upgrade seems to be a necessary one. The handguard is Diamondback's own design that I initially felt was a little to wide, bulky and heavy. But It's actually perfect for suppressor use and high round counts. It give your hand enough stand off that heat from the barrel doesn't make it to an ungloved hand. And Suppression is where this thing shines. The gassing is such that I had no gas in my face at all, and reliability was 100%. The Lazarus is a flow through can design so I can't promise that with older can designs. I really do think Diamondback knew that we'd all want to suppress a KAC barrel and got their ducks in a row for it. I won't say this is as good as a SR-15 cause I've never shot one, but it is really cool that Diamondback worked with Kinight's so all of us can have a little bit of that magic. This does beg the question. When's a DB10 in 308 with a Knight's Armament barrel coming out. I want and SR-25 we have at home that doesn't come from Palmetto State Armory. But a PSA one would still be cool to have...

Special thank you to Cameo Shooting and Education Center for use of range facilities
Huge special thank you to Trigger Tech for the Trigger that let me shoot this well.
