ROAST BEEF OVER BARLEY NOODLES.
INGREDIENTS.
1 kilo (2,2 lbs.) of lean beef.
2 medium size tomatoes blended in the food processor.
1 medium size onion cut in small pieces.
1 cup of rose or red wine.
1/2 cup of olive oil.
3to 4 Laurell leaves or 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg.
1 teaspoon of ground allspice.
Salt, pepper, garlic powder.
1 tablespoon of sugar.
1 1/2 cups of barley noodles.
SIDE DISHES.
TRADITIONAL GREEK SALAD.
3 medium size ripe tomatoes sliced.
1 European style cucumber.
1 small purple onion sliced.
1 small green pepper sliced.
Salt, oregano.
1/3 cup of olive oil.
Feta cheese.
Olives (optional).
TZATZIKI (CUCUMBER) SAUCE.
2 containers of 2% Greek yogurt.
2 small cucumbers peeled and grated.
Salt, oregano.
Olive oil.
