Fields Store Information Without Objects

Structure doesn’t require solid objects. Fields can store and shape information on their own.

Magnetic fields curve space around them. Electric fields guide how charges move. Plasma forms glowing filaments without any solid framework at all. The structure persists because the field constrains motion in a consistent way.

Nothing is physically “holding” these patterns together—yet they endure. Fields can carry memory, guide behavior, and shape motion without anything solid to cling to.

This short is part of the Foundations of Persistence series, exploring how structure and memory arise from constraints rather than material scaffolding.
