On January 2, 2026, early this morning, IFC (part of AMC Networks) aired the fully uncut R-rated version of National Lampoon's Animal House — a classic comedy officially rated R by the MPAA for strong sexual content (including multiple scenes of explicit female nudity), frequent profanity, and mature themes.

This broadcast happened during typical family viewing morning hours, right in the middle of winter break when many kids are home from school and could easily be channel-surfing — often without close adult supervision.

For this vlog clip, I've muted the audio (to avoid copyright issues) and applied blur effects over any nudity to keep things family-friendly here.

Bottom line: An uncut R-rated movie is clearly intended for mature audiences only. It is the responsibility of IFC and AMC Networks — not parents — to protect family viewing by exercising better judgment on scheduling, providing clear on-screen warnings, or editing content appropriately when airing during daytime hours on basic cable, especially during school vacation periods.

This kind of raw, unfiltered R-rated content in the morning isn't a family-friendly choice, and broadcasters should be held accountable for it. IFC (and perhaps the FCC) should hear from parents about broadcast timing and content safeguards on cable channels. The networks need to step up!
