PART 3 — LIE #3
Seven Lies Culture Tells You About the Self
“Letting Go Means Losing.”
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33
As many of us begin a 21-day fast, this lie comes to the surface:
“If I let go of what I want, I’ll lose something important.”

Fasting isn’t about food.
It’s about first love.

It’s choosing to release something you desire —
food, social media, comfort, control—
to remind your soul who matters most.

Not to earn God’s favor—
but to re-order your affection.

Because whatever sits first in your heart
has the loudest voice in your life.

Picture loosening your grip on what you value most
and grabbing the hands once pierced—
connected to the One whose eyes burn with love—
and realizing you’re not losing anything.

You’re being re-centered.

When God becomes first—not rushed, not leftover—
heaven responds.

Not because God is impressed,
but because surrendered love always gets His attention.

This is Lie #3 culture tells you about the self.
Fasting reveals that letting go isn’t loss—
it’s alignment.
