ამ სიმღერის ორიგინალია კლოდ ფრანსუას ჰიტი Comme d'habitude, რომელიც შეიქმნა 1967 წელს. საფრანგეთის სამხრეთში მყოფმა პოლ ანკამ მოისმინა რადიოთი, გადაფრინდა პარიზში და ნაწილობრივ გამოისყიდა ადაპტაციის და პუბლიკაციის უფლება. ანკამ ინგლისური ვერსია შექმნა ფრენკ სინატრასთვის, რომელმაც ეს ვერსია 1968 წლის 30 დეკემბერს პირველად ჩაწერა სახელწოდებით My Way. სიმღერამ მოიპოვა ფანტასტიკური პოპულარობა, ის შეასრულა არაერთმა ცნობილმა მომღერალმა.
1973 წელს ჰიტი ჩაწერა ქართულმა ვოკალურ-ინსტრუმენტულმა ანსამბლმა "ორერამ", რომლის რეპერტუარში არაერთი უცხოური ჰიტი იყო.
