The Crime Doctor's Gamble

is a 1947 American mystery film directed by William Castle. It is the ninth installment in the 10-film Crime Doctor series produced by Columbia Pictures.
Plot Overview
While in Paris for a lecture tour and vacation, Dr. Robert Ordway (Warner Baxter) is asked by his friend, the Prefect of Police, to help investigate a case of patricide.
The Crime: An elderly man has been stabbed to death.
The Suspect: His son, Henri Jardin (Roger Dann), who believes he may be guilty but suffers from war-induced amnesia and psychological trauma from his time in a concentration camp.
The Twist: Ordway's investigation leads him into the Parisian underworld, involving a knife-throwing act at a local club and a scheme related to the theft and forgery of priceless paintings.
