Until his death in 2013, and dating all the way back into the 1950's, Ray Harryhausen's meticulous special affects work, using stop motion animation using models, camera angles and green screen created some of the most jaw-dropping cinema experiences of the 20th century! His meticulous nature, design language and special affects acumen working on shoe string budgets for low budget and Independent productions, he shaped what was possible with passion, engineering and ingenuity! As bloated CGI took over Cinema and took out the craftsmanship of special affects and put it on a computer screen, Harryhausen's work has become more popular than ever! Why is that?
