What They Leave In the Bush

In this video, we document the field dressing of a moose during a successful hunt carried out alongside First Nations hunters, including my wife. While much of the process may look familiar to experienced hunters, there is one specific part of the moose that her people intentionally remove and discard — a practice passed down through generations.

What makes this especially interesting is that, despite being consistently done, the exact reason for removing this particular piece is not clearly explained. This video isn’t about claiming answers — it’s about observing, preserving, and sharing traditional hunting knowledge, and inviting thoughtful discussion around it.

If you’ve seen this done before, know why it’s removed, or have your own cultural or practical insight, feel free to share respectfully in the comments. These conversations matter, especially when they help preserve oral knowledge that isn’t always written down.

This channel exists to document real experiences, real hunts, and real conversations — grounded in respect for tradition, land, and people.
