According to reporting from Fox News, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a move to formally censure U.S. Senator Mark Kelly and initiate a Retirement Grade Determination proceeding tied to a viral video about refusing illegal orders. If the process advances, Kelly could face loss of retired rank and a reduction of military pension, officials say. The video—posted last November—featured Kelly and other lawmakers stating that service members may refuse illegal orders, a position that later drew sharp criticism. Former President Donald Trump publicly condemned the video, calling it “seditious behavior.” In December, the Pentagon confirmed a full command investigation into allegations of serious misconduct. Senator Elissa Slotkin also appeared in the video.
