First Deer Hunt: Doe and Buck on same Hunt

This hunt is one we’ll never forget. My teenage sons took their first deer ever—one a doe, the other a buck—on the same hunt. Watching them stay patient, make ethical shots, and respect the animal reminded me why hunting matters.

Both deer were taken cleanly with a .308 Benelli Lupo, and we couldn’t be more proud of how they handled the moment. This is what passing down hunting traditions is all about.
