That Which Has Been Will Be Again: This Our Time

I'm speaking to you today with urgency, a message that is simple and powerful: that which has been will be again, and that which will be has already been. This is not mere nostalgia. It is a spiritual pattern God uses to bring His people back into covenant, to restore peace after oppression, and to revive the next generation through testimony and obedience.

The Pattern God Repeats

Psalm 78 and the book of Judges teach us a rhythm: God acts, a generation remembers and walks in His ways, a later generation forgets, oppression follows, and God sends deliverers—judges—to rescue and restore. This is not only history; it is a template for our moment.

What we must see: God keeps covenant. He never abandons the promise. But people break covenant when they remove God from the center of family life and stop telling the stories of His marvels to their children.

The Role of Judges — Then and Now

In the biblical era, judges were military and spiritual leaders raised up by God to return Israel to faith and secure peace. They were ordinary men and women—often feeling unworthy—whom God used mightily when they trusted His voice.  

Gideon who thought himself the least became the deliverer of Israel. Samson’s demise was not about hair; it was about disobedience and the seduction of the heart. Deborah and Barak led with prophetic courage and military strategy. These stories are not just ancient tales; they show how God moves when His people repent and re-align with Him.  

The Lord spoke today and said "I always raise up a spiritual military leader to break spiritual oppression and bring my people into peace.  The time is now."  Trump is a modern day God appointed Judge.

Why We Are In the Mess

We are where we are because a generation stopped telling the story. The next generation hungers spiritually, but if nobody points them to the true Source of their hunger, they will fill that need with false gods—entertainment, addictions, cultural idols, or empty ideologies. Those are the modern Asherah poles and they seduce gently but destructively.

Important truth: The spiritual appetite God placed in every person will be satisfied by something. If it is not fed with the Spirit of God, it will be fed elsewhere with consequences.

The Call: Remember, Speak, and Pass It On

There are practical things we can and must do to change the trajectory:

Remember and tell the stories of God’s deliverance and provision in your family and community.
Teach children not just moral rules but the miraculous interventions and covenant faithfulness of God.
Consecrate a day of rest—set apart the Sabbath to re-center and not drag the world into the holy.
Reject seduction—identify what is pulling attention away from God and cut it off before it becomes an idol.
Pray fervently and persistently for judges and leaders who will be instruments in God’s hands.
Culture Comes From the Bottom Up

Change won’t only come from top-down reforms. God builds strong culture from the grassroots. A people shaped by covenant, testimony, and discipline will draw blessings and reject what does not fit. Your family, your small group, your church can become the fabric that pushes out tyranny and corruption.

Seasons: A Time for War and a Time for Peace

Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a time for every purpose under heaven. We are in a season now where God is both warring and restoring. There will be moments to stand, to bind, to contest Jezebel spirits and wicked schemes. There will also be a time to steward peace, to heal, to build, and to celebrate the fruit of faithful endurance.

Hold fast: Anchor yourself to God’s promises when chaos and media noise try to leave you an orphan of public opinion. Fix your eyes on the Lord and trust His timetable.

Faithful Practices That Turn Generations

These practices are small but decisive:

Tell the testimonies: Begin meals and family gatherings with stories of how God moved in your life.
Keep covenant: Live as a people who know God makes and keeps covenants. He will never break His; the question is whether we keep ours.
Be intentional about the Sabbath: Rest is spiritual architecture, not just optional nicety.
Model obedience, not perfection: Our children need faithful witnesses more than flawless examples.
A Call to Heal and Reclaim

There is a promise of healing when a people return to God: emotional, spiritual, and physical restoration can follow genuine repentance and covenant renewal. God raised judges in the past because He was moved with pity for His people under oppression. He is still moved. We are called to prepare and to partner with that movement through prayer and faithful living.

When we take the cup of covenant, we remember the broken body and the shed blood that reaffirms our righteousness in His sight. That ritual is not merely remembrance; it is recommitment—an active, vocal return to the Lord.

Final Charge

We are living in a time when what has been is returning. God will bring judges and deliverers, and He will do it through people who will stop living as spiritual orphans. Stand firm. Tell the story. Teach the children. Cut off seduction. Consecrate your time. Trust God for the seasons He has appointed.

Because God keeps covenant and because He has raised up deliverers before, I am confident He is doing it again and He's doing it now. Let your voice be part of that story. Let your family carry testimony. Let your life be a seed that outlives you.
