Song: SG-81 Stargate Command
Lyrics: Aaron J. Weaver
Music & Lyrics: ai

[verse1]
In an ancient room of a stargate door,
Surrounded my words telling a lore,
A man learning a civilization's past,
But this deep research was not to last.

He wears a tactical vest with a scholar’s mind,
A civilian with soldiers running out of time,
Part of S.G. 81, recording other worlds,
Translating the ruins of ancient words.

[verse2]
As they stand guard, looking for danger,
He’s kneels in the dust, and begins to wander,
Tracing symbols carved in age old stone,
Reading about the life of ancients' home.

But a fire is heard, through the structure's halls,
And strange noises made of animal calls,
The enemy found out that the team arrived,
And now the plan has changed to survive.

[verse3]
While under fire, Team 81 moves fast,
Preventing the historian to finish his task,
A team member touches the Dail-Home Device,
And the Stargate starts without doing it twice.

Back at Cheyenne Mountain, at Stargate Base,
Every team member survived from that chase,
The mission failed, and little was learned,
And it'll be a few weeks before they all return.

[chorus]
S. G. Eighty-One through Stargate was hurled,
To collect knowledge of other civilized worlds,
To learn of the past and of nations now,
To fulfill the mission, they don't know how.
