Machines: The Steppe Beat Collective
Machines is a song that incorporates Mongolian Chants music with a touch of hip hop and dance vibes. The band is AI and the songs are AI assisted, meaning I told the AI what I wanted down to the clothing they wear, their names, nationalities and lyrics and AI assisted me in organizing it. I am not trying to pass them or any of my characters off as "Real". I think of it like a game of imagination. Some people will relate and some won't.
The album is called "The Steppe Beat Collective" and is available on Spotify on 1-11-26.
The Steppe Beat Collective is a cross-cultural crew that marries Mongolian chants, hip‑hop cadences, and dancefloor energy with lyrics that aren’t afraid to be conservative, reflective, and values-driven. Six people from different races, classes, and histories—united by the belief that rhythm, melody, and conviction can coexist. They want you to think, but more than anything, they want you to move.
Band Members
1. Arslan – Drums (Mongolian)
Arslan grew up on the steppe listening to long-song and throat singing at family gatherings. He started out on traditional frame drums used in local festivals, then taught himself modern kit playing from bootleg rock DVDs. His drumming fuses galloping steppe rhythms with tight club grooves. Arslan is the quiet backbone of the band—conservative in lifestyle and values, but fiercely protective of artistic freedom. He sees the band as a bridge between heritage and the modern world.
2. Diego – Bass (Spanish)
Diego is a clean-cut Spaniard who left a promising corporate job when he realized he was spending more time tapping bass lines on his desk than reading spreadsheets. Grounded, punctual, and disciplined, he keeps the groove locked and the band’s logistics sane. Politically and culturally, he believes in strong roots, family, and responsibility—but he also believes that dance floors are sacred spaces where differences dissolve into rhythm. His bass lines are warm, melodic and subtly complex.
3. Malik – Lead Vocals / Rap (Frontman)
Malik grew up between church choirs, golden-era hip-hop, and conservative talk radio in the background. He’s a thoughtful lyricist who writes about personal responsibility, faith, and freedom—but always wrapped in hooks that make people move first and think later. On stage he’s pure charisma: he can shift from rapid-fire rap to chant-like, call-and-response vocals that echo across the steppe. Malik sees the collective as proof that you can hold firm beliefs and still welcome everyone to the party.
4. Layla – Co‑Lead Vocals / Tambourine (Arabic, Hippy Spirit)
Layla comes from an Arabic family that treasured old poetry and classic singers. In her teens she fell in love with 60s and 70s folk-rock and adopted a barefoot, boho style that makes her look like time forgot to update her wardrobe. She plays tambourine like a lead instrument—syncopated, shimmering, and always moving with the beat. Spiritually conservative and personally modest, she still radiates warmth and openness. Layla’s harmonies soften Malik’s edges and give the band its dreamy, hypnotic side.
5. Evan – Guitar (White, Suit & Headband)
Evan used to be “the guy in the suit” at a downtown law firm. The suit never fit his soul; the headband and guitar always did. He still wears the suit on stage as a reminder that appearances don’t define identity—but the colorful headband declares his true allegiance to music and unity. His guitar sound moves from twangy, steppe-inflected riffs to big, anthemic choruses. Evan leans conservative on ideas like order, tradition, and merit—but he believes music is the one place where every voice gets a solo.
6. Anya – Synth / Piano (European or Russian)
Anya was classically trained on piano in a strict Eastern European conservatory, where precision and discipline were everything. Secretly, she was sampling old symphonies, Mongolian chants, and 90s dance tracks on a cheap laptop. In the band, she designs the sonic landscape: icy synth pads, warm piano chords, and subtle electronic flourishes that tie the whole sound together. She’s reserved, analytical, and sometimes blunt, but beneath that is a romantic belief that beauty and structure can protect culture from chaos.
