We Don't Understand

There are many times where the natural course of nature helps us to reconcile the questions of the things that we are expecting, praying for that are not happening the way we planned. We know God is in charge as we see the sun set and absolutely knowing it will rise in the morning. This is a great reminder that our God is faithful in His care of us.

Sometimes we completely do not understand the “why” of the things happening. Nothing touches us that God does not allow. So, at times we are in “shock and awe” over the things happening in our lives, not understanding the purpose of them, but trusting that God is at work in the unseen for our good.

So the sun sets and the sun rises and these things that suddenly pop up in our life path that we can’t wrap our minds around, yet, we know, without a doubt He’s got us, He will not leave us and He has a good endgame.

When the sun sets, we know it will rise in the morning. Period. Our God is predictable in His trustworthiness. It is these little things where we see God’s maintaining of His creation that help us reconcile the things in our lives we don’t understand. Why does God allow things at certain times, the way He does? We, at times, can’t reconcile this, the things we wanted are just not happening the way we thought they would play out. We asked and the answer was not anything like what we asked for.

It is times such as this that we breathe in deeply the Sovereignty of God, and how He works. God does things His way. His mind is not like our mind, HIs ways are not like our ways. Sometimes we can’t even begin to understand the ways of God, and sometimes it shakes our faith to the core.

Yes, those are the times we remember God is constant, trustworthy and faithful in His constant care for us. And as the sun sets and the sun rises, we remind ourselves of His constant care, we remind ourselves that He is good, we remind ourselves that He is faithful and trustworthy, and we lay down in peace and sleep, as we know He is at work for our good and for His glory.
