The story of Anhedonia takes place far away in northern England. Anhedonia was an enchanting Princess, and it was also the name of the castle where she lived. Anhedonia had a beautiful lilting way in her voice. Any man who meets Princess Anhedonia, instantly falls in love with her and wants to give away his heart to her (that is where love lives). Before she takes her suitor’s heart, he must first agree to stay with her in Anhedonia forever. Enchanted by her beauty and voice, each suitor would quickly agree to her conditions. But they do not yet know that Anhedonia cannot return their love or their heart, because she cannot feel love, since Anhedonia also had no heart. Long ago, her heart was taken by someone whom she loved with all her heart, and it was never returned. The void in her chest left her forever seeking the love that she had lost. But since she no longer knew how to love, each suitor would fail to have Anhedonia return their love. Some would bring her flowers, others would give her jewels, and she still would not return their love. Each of their fates were the same. Since they gave away their hearts to her, they could neither leave with their hearts or love again, and they stayed in Anhedonia to keep trying ways to have her return their love. All were relegated to keep her castle maintained, and she would see that they were fed, when it was time to feed her subjects. One day, a Prince from another place was traveling through the countryside and heard of the tale of the beautiful Princess Anhedonia, who was looking for love, as he was. The Prince was warned about her, but he was so curious, and his heart was so full, that he could not resist his curiosity, and he devised a plan to meet the Princess…
