CS #487. The Flying Deuces (1939)

is a classic buddy comedy starring the legendary duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. It is notably one of the few feature films the pair made outside of their long-term contract with Hal Roach Studios, produced instead by Boris Morros for RKO Radio Pictures.
Plot Overview
While on vacation in Paris, Ollie falls deeply in love with Georgette (Jean Parker), the innkeeper's daughter. Upon discovering she is already married to a French Foreign Legion officer, a heartbroken Ollie decides to commit suicide by jumping into the Seine—dragging a reluctant Stan with him. They are talked out of it by an officer who suggests that joining the Foreign Legion is the perfect way to "forget." Predictably, their bumbling nature leads to chaos in the desert, resulting in charges of desertion and a madcap escape attempt in a stolen airplane.
