Army Veteran Busted Smuggling Drug

This was a traffic stop for following a vehicle too close and obstructed rear view mirror. The suspect told the officer he was a retied Army vet and former corrections officer and he was on his way to a school out of state to get his commercial drivers license so that he could work as a truck driver.

He was asked for consent to search the vehicle , he declined. They deployed the K9 for a sniff search and it gave a positive hit. He then admitted that someone just 'gave it to him' to transport. There was another vehicle involved that he was supposed to hand the load to but that person got freaked out when they saw law enforcement and took off.

He claimed he was only making $1000. He was arrested and booked. It's unclear what the sentence was at this time.
