From Abortion to Absolution

My conversation with Arlette Revells was both inspiring and a blessing.
In Arlette Revell’s book “Joys of the Not So Perfect Woman” she shares various, what she calls “Holy Awareness Moments” similar to what I label as Downloads.
Although there are many Holy Awareness Moments in her book, (you can pick up a copy on Amazon: Joys of the Not So Perfect Woman) a very powerful one was her abortion experience with her husband in the 1970s.
Arlette lovingly and bravely shares this intimate experience, and I felt it deserved the honor to be the focus of the podcast. Although over 40 years ago, she remembers her decision-making process at the time and the aftermath of the emotional pain she and her husband experienced.
I am in awe of how they processed this experience with God and received the beautiful gift of self-forgiveness and miraculous restoration from their burden. She shares how she went from suffering to allowing herself to receive healing and security from a loving God.
Abortion can be a deep secret creating shame, regret and guilt in women and men's hearts if not exposed to the loving light of God. Arlette speaks about this topic and provides encouragement and healing for other families with similar experiences. My hope is this story will touch the hearts of other women with a similar experience and provide some hope and healing.
