Is This the Slowest “Subway” in Toronto? Full Line 6 Journey & Honest Impressions
Toronto’s brand-new Line 6 Finch West LRT has finally arrived — and I decided to experience it end to end.
In this video, I transfer from Line 1 at Finch West Station, hop on the new tram, and ride all the way to Humber College Station, sharing my honest impressions once the journey is complete.
This isn’t a rushed review — it’s a real ride. You’ll see how Line 6 feels in everyday use, how it compares to Toronto’s traditional subway lines, and why many riders are already talking about its speed, reliability, and rollout problems.
Line 6 Finch West is an 11 km light rail transit line running along Finch Avenue West, connecting northwest Toronto from Keele Street to Humber College. The trains operate in a dedicated median, separated from traffic — yet they stop at nearly every red light, averaging around 13.5 km/h, making this one of the slowest LRT experiences many riders have ever had.
Since opening in December, the line has faced delays, outages, and heavy criticism, quickly earning a controversial reputation. The excitement around Toronto’s newest transit expansion faded fast, leaving commuters frustrated and curious about what went wrong.
Is Line 6 unfairly judged? Or does it really deserve the criticism?
Watch the full ride and decide for yourself.
