CS #488. The Omaha Trail

is a 1942 American B-western film produced by MGM, running approximately 62 minutes. Set in the 1860s, the plot centers on the technological shift from traditional ox-driven trails to the expanding railroad.
Plot Summary
The story follows Pat Candel (James Craig), a drifter hired by Mr. Vane to lead a unique freight expedition: transporting a steam locomotive to Omaha using oxen. This progress is threatened by "Pipestone" Ross (Dean Jagger), a powerful freighter who realizes the railroad will destroy his business. Ross joins the trek to sabotage it, eventually provoking a Sioux Indian attack to stop the locomotive. Candel must navigate these internal and external threats while winning the heart of Julie Santley (Pamela Blake).
