Guinea Revokes 46 Bauxite Mining Licences

Guinea has been dragged to an international arbitration court – not because it broke any international laws, invaded any countries, committed any genocides or kidnapped any popular leaders… but because it dared to say no to neo-colonial exploitation.

Guinea is the world’s largest exporter of bauxite, a key ingredient in the manufacture of aluminium. For decades, foreign companies like Axis International and Emirates Global Aluminium have mined Guinea’s bauxite, shipped it out, and made billions, while Guinea has remained underdeveloped.

In this video, @thereluctantaccountant details Guinea’s recent legal battle with UAE-based Axis International, and the steps the country’s President, Mamadi Doumbouya, has taken to ensure that Guinea controls its own wealth.

We at the Spearhead hope that Guinea stands firm in the face of this latest neocolonial stunt, and continues to walk the revolutionary path, as Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso have before it.
