Topsy Turvy UK Politics

There's a lot going on in UK politics - and global politics for that matter. The UK Government has done a U-Turn on the hated Digital ID - but is it playing smart and leaving the mandatory stuff until later? We think so.

The ruinous Chagos Islands deal suffered a set back but incompetence in the House of Lords means it may still go ahead.

The Government continues to play dirty ball with censorship, seeking ongoing investigation of X by OfCOM, despite X's compliance. And they will soon have access to your private messaging. However, China's super new embassy, just a metre away from Britain's most sensitive communication cables is just fine - so the CCP will be able to spy on Britons too. Still on censorship and surveillance, The UK has revoked Dutch Lawyer Eva Vlaardingerbroek's travel authorisation because her presence is not conducive to the public good. There will be no appeal. It seems Dictator Starmer can do what he likes - a little like Donald Trump - and the rest of them.

On the other side, Nigel Farage is fast ruining his excellent chances of being elected. The leaders of Reform UK may have been forgiven for their early support of the poisonous jabs until they invited the Tory Vaccine Minister Nadhim Zahawi to Join their party. Clearly those people don't hate vaccine mandates enough.
