Another Vehicle Rams ICE

New video released by ICE shows a dangerous confrontation in a San Antonio Walmart parking lot where officers say a driver repeatedly rammed ICE vehicles while agents were trying to make an arrest. The incident happened on Blanco Road, where officers attempted to box the vehicle in. Instead of complying, the driver moved the car forward and backward, striking at least two unmarked ICE vehicles while agents were still on foot nearby.

According to ICE and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, the driver attempted to run over an officer during the encounter. One ICE agent was injured in the incident and taken to the hospital. Video shared by the agency shows officers with weapons drawn ordering the driver out of the vehicle before the car begins crashing into agency vehicles in an apparent attempt to escape.

State and federal officials have pointed to the footage as another example of the real dangers ICE agents face while carrying out enforcement operations. The incident has been widely shared by national media and comes amid rising tensions around immigration enforcement.
