Why I joined the USMC | Doberman Dad Explains While Vader sleeps

This was a real, honest moment from this morning’s livestream.

I was asked why I joined the Marine Corps, and the answer has always been simple.

I joined because I wanted to prove something to myself.

I wanted to know how tough I really was.
I wanted to know what I was capable of when things got hard.

I figured if I could make it through four years in the Marine Corps, I could handle just about anything life decided to throw at me.

But there was another reason too.

I never wanted to get older and look back on my life asking:

“What if?”
“What if I had tried?”
“What if I had gone for it?”

I’ve always lived my life with the mindset of:

If I want to do something — I do it.

Because I don’t want regrets.
I don’t want unanswered questions.
I don’t want to wonder who I could’ve been.

The Marine Corps was about testing limits, building confidence, and proving to myself that I could endure more than I thought.

That mindset didn’t stop there.
It carried into everything that came after.

This highlight captures:
• A candid explanation of why I joined
• The role self-challenge played in that decision
• Living without “what if” regrets
• A mindset built around personal accountability
• An unscripted, thoughtful livestream moment
