Idaho led the nation in 2014 with its campus carry law — but more than a decade later, that law is outdated and full of gaps that leave students, faculty, and lawful gun owners unprotected. In this video, Greg from the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance breaks down why Idaho’s campus carry statute needs real modernization and what true freedom on campus should look like today.

We take a clear look at Constitutional Carry on campus as the ideal standard for a state that already trusts its citizens everywhere else. And even if lawmakers aren’t ready for that step, there are commonsense reforms Idaho can and should adopt immediately — including allowing students in dorms to possess a firearm for self‑defense and ending the ability of university boards to create their own gun restrictions that undermine statewide law.

If Idaho believes in equal rights for all lawful adults, then those rights shouldn’t disappear at the campus boundary.
