This Week’s Lesson

Today we are in Lesson-04 in the series “Preserving the Covenant Community” from the book of Esther.

This is Volume III of our series: “After the Exile” a study of Ezra-Nehemiah-Esther.

The lesson is titled “A Dastardly Plot and A Desperate Plea – Part II” and our focus passage is Esther 4.

Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.

Review of Our Previous Lesson

In our previous episode, we began our study of Esther 3-4. The events of chapters 1-2 show how God positioned both Esther and Mordecai in positions of influence.

In Esther 3 we witnessed the rise of Haman and his dastardly plot to exterminate the Jews across the Medo-Persian Empire.

Haman took advantage of King Xerxes’ callousness and disinterest in his subjects.

Introduction to Today’s Lesson

In today’s lesson we begin our study of Esther 3-4.

The events of chapters 1-2 have positioned both Esther and Mordecai in positions of influence.

God providentially set the stage for their next steps as they will both be needed by the Jewish community living in Persia.

Let’s get started.
