PODCASTER SCHOOLS EUROPEAN COMMENTATOR

“How are Europeans supposed to act, or react, when Africans are pouring in from everywhere at the moment?” a European commentator asks a young man, ignoring hundreds of years of colonialism that involved the exploitation of the African continent prior to and following the Berlin Conference of 1884-1995.

The colonial powers met at the Berlin Conference, and ultimately concluded with the signing of the General Act of Berlin. This act essentially regulated European theft across the African continent during this new epoch of imperialism.

Since the independence of African nations, Europe and the west have practiced neoliberal policies in the name of the free markets, which resulted in the harm and exploitation of indigenous communities across the continent. Even more fatal is the policy of regime change and destabilisation, such as the case in Libya, The Sahel, and the Horn of Africa, where millions have been killed, resulting in mass migration into Europe.
