Equal Pay: Stop Trying To Be Equal

Equal pay demands in women's sports = slave morality, not merit.

In this TyTalk video, I argue that demands for equal pay in women's sports, such as those from Megan Rapinoe and the USWNT or the WNBA, reflect slave morality — a mindset focused on tearing others down through forced equality rather than earning based on actual value and performance.

I point out that women's leagues and tournaments generate significantly less revenue than their male counterparts, with the WNBA at around $200 million compared to the NBA's billions, and the Women's World Cup bringing in about $570 million versus the men's $7.5 billion or more.

Rapinoe claims she and her teammates do the same job as men but get paid less, yet they don't face the same opponents or competition level — women's national teams have lost heavily in scrimmages against under-15 or under-20 boys' teams, such as the USWNT's 5-2 defeat to FC Dallas U15 boys in 2017 and similar results for other nations.

If women's teams competed in men's tournaments, they likely wouldn't even qualify, placing their level closer to lower-tier men's leagues where average salaries are far below what top female players like Rapinoe earn.
