Men Project their Self Loathing into their films

The makers of Ex Machina failed because they couldn't remove their own human male bias from the story. The fact that they place actual real life female behavior and desires onto a robot shows us that men see objects as human as soon as it dons the female form. There is no guessing whether the robot Ava is conscious or human. She is because her behavior says so.
