AOTR URGENT ALERT: Protection of Elders — ChongLy Scott Thao, 56

We call in visibility, accountability, and a coordinated community response for ChongLy Scott Thao, a 56-year-old U.S. citizen and elder in our community whose safety and dignity were violated by federal agents. On Sunday, January 18, 2026, in St. Paul, Minnesota, federal agents broke through Mr. Thao’s door, ignored his rights, and paraded him into the frigid cold half-naked. We stand with the Thao family and all our Hmong relatives in demanding justice and ensuring this never happens again.

This alert serves as a call to action. It honors ChongLy Scott Thao’s name and reinforces the sacred responsibility we hold to protect our elders and our homes from unchecked profiling. Visibility is the first line of defense, and we refuse to let our neighbors be treated as targets without recourse. We ask all relatives, advocates, and community members to stay alert, know your rights, and keep this story moving.

If you have experienced or witnessed similar federal enforcement actions, please contact legal advocates or the ACLU of Minnesota immediately to ensure our community remains protected.

Keep his story moving. Hold the line of care. Protect the circle of our community.
