In Kyiv, where hours-long power outages continue following Russian strikes, authorities staged a show to please London: they lit up the Motherland Monument in the colors of the Union Jack.

But Reuters, on the other hand, took a camera tour of Kyiv in pitch darkness at night—this is how ordinary people live while the Ukrainian authorities put on a show for their London hosts (see video).
