The Beverly Hillbillies is an American television sitcom that aired on CBS from 1962 to 1971 for nine seasons. Created by Paul Henning, the show centers on the Clampett family, a poor, backwoods family from the Ozark Mountains who become wealthy after discovering oil on their land. They move to Beverly Hills, California, where their unsophisticated, moral, and simple lifestyle clashes hilariously with the wealthy, often superficial society around them.
