Inclement Weather till next week
The entire state of Mississippi except for the coast/beaches is under a winter storm/blizzard warning from Friday at noon till Sunday night. We will have snow, ice, sleet, & freezing rain. With the Northern portions of the state getting the worst. We live in the Northern part. This weekend’s livestreams are cancelled & we will be uploading pre-recorded lessons for the Sabbath. Also tonight & tomorrow livestream prayer services are cancelled as we need to prepare for the weather.
We have experienced two power outages from winter storms previously when we were living in Memphis,Tennessee: four & two years ago. The longest lasting for a week & the other two days. We have also been snowed in before for days. So we do not play around with winter storms/blizzard warnings. The Deep South does not handle snow storms or ice storms well. Roads become untraversable & everything shuts down. Me and Amber need to spend tonight & all day tomorrow preparing. We need to purchase a generator but all of the local stores (Rural King, Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight, Lowes, etc…) are sold out. So tomorrow will be sent trying to find a generator somewhere in Mississippi, Alabama, or God forbid Tennessee. We also need to stock up on groceries. Our house is all electric so if the power goes out we are screwed.
Sorry for the inconvenience but the church/synagogue is on inclement weather policy until next week. Thank you for your patience & consideration. Below are the warnings from the national weather service for Central Mississippi (Jackson, Mississippi) & North Mississippi (Memphis, Tennessee)
