The Physics of Supercooled Water: Instant Crystallization

Ever wondered why water stays liquid below its freezing point? In this video, we demonstrate the phenomenon of "supercooling." By disturbing the sub-zero water, we trigger a chain reaction that turns the entire bottle into ice in seconds.
How to try this at home?
1. Get a bottle of purified (still) water. Place it in the freezer for about 2–3 hours. (The exact time depends on your freezer's power). The key is to take it out before it freezes completely.
2. Carefully remove the bottle. Avoid any sudden movements or jarring.
3. Give it a sharp tap. Slam the bottom of the bottle against a table or give it a quick, firm shake.
