Old Beat-Up Truck Faith

After watching Jack Hibbs’ sermon on Sunday the 25th of January 2025 on NRBTV, I was inspired to write a narrative poem tribute to his sermon and his rusty old truck analogy after reading: 🚀📖✨
Romans 15:1-6 (GNT) 📖💪
We who are strong in the faith ought to help the weak to carry their burdens. We should not please ourselves. Instead, we should all please other believers for their own good, in order to build them up in the faith. For Christ did not please himself. Instead, as the scripture says, “The insults which are hurled at you have fallen on me.” Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement which the Scriptures give us. And may God, the source of patience and encouragement, grant you to live in harmony with one another, as Christ Jesus wants you to, so that all of you together may praise with one voice the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 💪🙏🤝
Fit: This directly connects to the truck carrying heavy loads (burdens of the weak), moving slowly but relentlessly to the end (endurance taught in Scriptures), and not being “shiny” or self-pleasing but building others up through Christlike love and unity. 🛻🏋️‍♂️🚧❤️
Galatians 6:2 (GNT) 📖🤝
Help carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will obey the law of Christ. 🤝⚖️✝️
Fit: Reinforces the idea of the truck hauling “tons of stuff” that most can’t handle, symbolizing believers fulfilling Christ’s law by supporting each other through life’s obstacles, just as the truck persists unstoppable in low gear. 🚚💥🛤️🔥
Isaiah 53:1-6 (GNT) 📖🐑
The people reply, “Who would have believed what we now report? Who could have seen the Lord’s hand in this? It was the will of the Lord that his servant grow like a plant taking root in dry ground. He had no dignity or beauty to make us take notice of him. There was nothing attractive about him, nothing that would draw us to him. We despised him and rejected him; he endured suffering and pain. No one would even look at him—we ignored him as if he were nothing. But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God. But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received. All of us were like sheep that have gone astray. Each of us followed his own way. But the Lord made the punishment fall on him, the punishment all of us deserved.” 🐑✝️🩸🌿
Fit: Aligns with the truck not being “cute” or “shiny” but “beautiful” because it endures and carries what others can’t—mirroring Jesus’ lack of outward comeliness, yet He bears our griefs, sorrows, and sins relentlessly to the cross, providing healing and peace. 🌟🩹🚛💔
John 15:19 (GNT) 📖🌍
If you belonged to the world, then the world would love you as one of its own. But you do not belong to the world. I chose you from this world, and you do not belong to it; that is why the world hates you. 🌍🚫👥
Fit: Captures the contrast between the truck’s unappealing, slow-paced appearance to the world and its true value in God’s eyes, emphasizing believers’ separation from worldly standards while persisting through hostility. 👀⚔️🛑🙏
Hebrews 12:1-2 (GNT) 📖🏃‍♂️
As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God’s throne. 🏃‍♂️👑✝️🏅
Fit: Fits the relentless, obstacle-overcoming endurance to the finish. 🏁🔥🚀🛤️
1 Peter 3:3-4 (GNT) 📖💎
You should not use outward aids to make yourselves beautiful, like the way you fix your hair, or the jewelry you put on, or the dresses you wear. Instead, your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of the greatest value in God’s sight. 💎🕊️🌟
Fit: Fits the “not cute but beautiful in the Lord’s eyes” aspect. 😊🙌👁️❤️
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (GNT) 📖⏳
For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever. ⏳🌌🔄✨
Fit: Fits the beat-up exterior enduring for eternal purpose. 🛠️✨🚧🌟

🗣️ Personal Note
I’m not a strong singer 🎤😅, so back in 2024, I turned to AI tools 🤖📱 to bring the poem to life with music and vocals. I also created a biblical, scientific, and mathematical breakdown of its message 📜🔬📊💥📘.
My vocals might rival Roseanne Barr’s infamous anthem performance 🇺🇸😬🤭, but I truly hope the message, heart, and humor shine through ✨❤️🙏.
While I must admit my singing isn’t top-tier (and could definitely remind you of Roseanne Barr’s legendary national anthem moment 😅🎶), the real heart of the song is what matters most. I relied on AI for the musical arrangement and vocals since I’m no professional composer or singer 🎼🤷‍♂️ — but the essence of the poem, the passion behind it, and the faith it carries are what truly count! 🌟✝️🔥

TITLE: Old Beat-Up Truck Faith

Verse 1
Got this old beat-up Ford, rust on the fender, tires worn thin,
She ain’t much to look at, folks laugh when I crank her up again.
But shift her to four-wheel low, first gear grindin’ slow,
Clutch out, she just goes, haulin’ loads through the mud and snow.
Like Romans fifteen says, we bear the weak one’s load,
Not pleasin’ ourselves, but buildin’ up on that dusty road.
Chorus 1
Oh, that truck keeps rollin’, steady and true,
Carryin’ burdens like the strong ought to do.
Endurance from the Word, hope in the fight,
Ain’t shiny, but she’s right, in the Lord’s good sight.
Verse 2
Folks say she’s ugly, no chrome, no gleam, just dents and scars,
But she plows through fences, hills, and bars, under them country stars.
Galatians six-two rings out, fulfill the law of Christ,
Bearin’ one another’s weights, no matter the sacrifice.
Like Isaiah fifty-three, He had no beauty we could see,
Despised and rejected, but He carried you and me.
Chorus 2
Haulin’ griefs and sorrows, pierced for our sin,
That old rig reminds me where the real strength begins.
Slow but unstoppable, through the world’s cold hate,
Beautiful in endurance, sealin’ our fate.
Bridge
Now the world might hate us, like John fifteen nineteen,
We ain’t of this place, chosen out, livin’ clean.
But we run that race, Hebrews twelve one and two,
Layin’ aside the weights, eyes on Jesus, pullin’ through.
Bridge Chorus
Inner beauty shines, First Peter three-three to four,
Not the outer gold, but the heart forevermore.
Gentle spirit precious, in God’s lovin’ gaze,
That truck’s my reminder, through these tryin’ days.
Verse 3
Beat-up exterior, wastin’ away outside,
But inside renewin’, Second Corinthians four-sixteen’s guide.
Light afflictions preparin’ glory beyond compare,
She ain’t fast or flashy, but she’ll get you there.
Over buildings, through the storm, no matter what’s in the way,
Just like our Savior, turnin’ night into day.
Chorus 3
Wastin’ on the outside, renewed deep within,
Eternal weight of glory, where the real wins begin.
Not cute, but she’s faithful, haulin’ to the end,
In low gear forever, my steadfast friend.
Verse 4
So crank up that engine, let the diesel hum low,
World’s illusions fade, but the truth starts to show.
We glorify together, one voice in the night,
Harmony in Christ, makin’ wrong into right.
From the sermon that hit me, like a truck in the rain,
Endurin’ with Scripture, breakin’ every chain.
Chorus 4
Roll on, old believer, through the trials and the tears,
Unseen beauty bloomin’, castin’ out the fears.
From burdens to blessings, in that four-wheel drive,
We’re headin’ to glory, feelin’ fully alive.
Outro
Yeah, that truck’s my Bible on wheels, teachin’ me to stand,
Slow and steady wins, in the Master’s grand plan.
Fade out the engine, but the message stays strong,
Haulin’ hope eternal, where we all belong.
BIBLICAL BREAKDOWN:
Biblical Breakdown of the Title: “Old Beat-Up Truck Faith” 🚚✝️
The title “Old Beat-Up Truck Faith” encapsulates a profound biblical metaphor for the Christian journey, drawing from Pastor Jack Hibbs’ sermon analogy of an old, rugged pickup truck as a symbol of enduring faith amid worldly trials. 🚚💪 Biblically, it reflects how true faith isn’t polished or glamorous like the world’s standards (John 15:19 🌍❌, where believers are “not of the world” and thus often despised), but rather weathered, reliable, and purpose-driven, much like Jesus Himself who had “no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him” (Isaiah 53:2 👀🚫). The “old beat-up truck” represents the outer self “wasting away” yet inwardly renewed (2 Corinthians 4:16 🔄❤️), hauling burdens with unyielding endurance (Romans 15:4 📖🏃‍♂️), embodying a faith that “just goes” through obstacles, leading to eternal glory. ✝️🏁 This title humorously yet deeply ties to the idea of faith as a vehicle for bearing loads (Galatians 6:2 🤝📦), not shiny but beautiful in God’s eyes (1 Peter 3:4 💎🙏), propelling us toward the finish line with Christ as the driver (Hebrews 12:2 👑🚗).
Line-by-Line Biblical Breakdown of the Lyrics 📖🎶
Verse 1
Got this old beat-up Ford, rust on the fender, tires worn thin, 🚚🛠️ – This line mirrors the “beat-up” exterior of faith, akin to the outer man “wasting away” in 2 Corinthians 4:16 🔄😩, where trials erode the physical but strengthen the spirit, just as Jesus’ earthly form was unremarkable and despised (Isaiah 53:2-3 👤🚫).
She ain’t much to look at, folks laugh when I crank her up again. 😂👎 – Reflects worldly mockery of humble faith, as in John 15:19 🌍😠, where the world hates what isn’t “of the world”; believers are often ridiculed like the prophets or Christ Himself (Psalm 22:7-8 🗣️🤦‍♂️).
But shift her to four-wheel low, first gear grindin’ slow, ⚙️🐢 – Symbolizes shifting into spiritual endurance mode, drawing from Romans 15:4 📖💪, where Scripture provides “endurance” for slow, steady progress through life’s rough terrain, much like gearing down for trials (James 1:3-4 🏔️🛤️).
Clutch out, she just goes, haulin’ loads through the mud and snow. ❄️🌧️ – Illustrates relentless forward motion in faith, tying to Galatians 6:2 🤝📦 for bearing burdens, and Philippians 3:14 🏃‍♂️🎯, pressing on toward the goal despite obstacles, empowered by God’s strength (Isaiah 40:31 🦅💨).
Like Romans fifteen says, we bear the weak one’s load, 📖🤲 – Directly quotes Romans 15:1-2 ✝️❤️, urging the strong to “bear with the failings of the weak” and build others up, embodying Christlike service over self-pleasing (Philippians 2:3-4 🙇‍♂️👫).
Not pleasin’ ourselves, but buildin’ up on that dusty road. 🛣️🏗️ – Echoes Romans 15:2-3 📖🧱, where we please neighbors for their good, following Christ’s example who didn’t please Himself but took on reproaches (Psalm 69:7-9 quoted in Romans 15:3 😔🛡️).
Chorus 1
Oh, that truck keeps rollin’, steady and true, 🚚🏞️ – Captures the steadfastness of faith, like the “endurance” in Hebrews 12:1 🏃‍♂️🔥, running the race with perseverance, unwavering as God’s promises (Hebrews 10:36 📜🛡️).
Carryin’ burdens like the strong ought to do. 📦💪 – Ties to Romans 15:1 and Galatians 6:2 🤝✝️, fulfilling Christ’s law by bearing others’ loads, reflecting mutual support in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:26 👥❤️).
Endurance from the Word, hope in the fight, 📖🕊️ – Draws from Romans 15:4-5 🌟🙏, where Scriptures give endurance and encouragement, fostering hope amid spiritual battles (Ephesians 6:12 ⚔️🛡️).
Ain’t shiny, but she’s right, in the Lord’s good sight. 👀✨🚫 – Contrasts worldly appeal with divine approval, per 1 Peter 3:4 💎❤️, where inner beauty is “precious” to God, not external shine (1 Samuel 16:7 👁️❤️, God looks at the heart).
Verse 2
Folks say she’s ugly, no chrome, no gleam, just dents and scars, 😔🛠️ – Parallels Isaiah 53:2-3 👤🚫, Jesus’ lack of “beauty” or “majesty,” scarred by rejection, showing faith’s true value beyond appearances (2 Corinthians 4:7 🏺💔, treasure in jars of clay).
But she plows through fences, hills, and bars, under them country stars. 🌌🏔️ – Symbolizes overcoming barriers, like faith conquering obstacles in Hebrews 11:30-33 🏰🔥, where heroes subdued kingdoms and escaped peril by faith (Psalm 18:29 🏃‍♂️🧱).
Galatians six-two rings out, fulfill the law of Christ, 📖🔔 – Directly from Galatians 6:2 ✝️🤝, bearing burdens as the essence of Christ’s law of love (John 13:34 ❤️👥).
Bearin’ one another’s weights, no matter the sacrifice. 📦🙇‍♂️ – Echoes Romans 15:1-3 and Philippians 2:4 🤲💔, prioritizing others’ needs, mirroring Christ’s sacrificial love (Ephesians 5:2 🕊️❤️).
Like Isaiah fifty-three, He had no beauty we could see, 👀🚫 – Quotes Isaiah 53:2 📜😔, Jesus’ unappealing form, yet redemptive purpose, highlighting humility in salvation (Philippians 2:7-8 👑⬇️).
Despised and rejected, but He carried you and me. 😢🤲 – From Isaiah 53:3-5 ✝️📦, Jesus bore our griefs and sins, despised yet healing us through His wounds (1 Peter 2:24 🩹❤️).
Chorus 2
Haulin’ griefs and sorrows, pierced for our sin, 📦🩸 – Directly ties to Isaiah 53:4-5 😔✝️, where Christ “borne our griefs” and was “pierced for our transgressions,” carrying what we couldn’t.
That old rig reminds me where the real strength begins. 🚚💪 – Points to God’s power in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 📖🛡️), strength perfected in frailty, like the truck’s endurance from divine enablement (Philippians 4:13 🏋️‍♂️✝️).
Slow but unstoppable, through the world’s cold hate, 🐢❄️ – Reflects perseverance amid persecution (John 15:18-19 🌍😠), faith pressing on like the unstoppable gospel (Acts 5:39 🚫🏃‍♂️).
Beautiful in endurance, sealin’ our fate. 💎🏁 – Links to 1 Peter 3:4 ❤️🙏 for inner beauty, and Romans 5:3-4 📖🔥, where endurance produces character and hope, securing eternal destiny (Revelation 2:10 👑🕊️).
Bridge
Now the world might hate us, like John fifteen nineteen, 🌍😠 – Quotes John 15:19 ✝️🚫, believers chosen out of the world, facing hatred for not conforming (Romans 12:2 🧠🔄).
We ain’t of this place, chosen out, livin’ clean. 👑🧼 – Echoes 1 Peter 2:9 📜🕊️, a “chosen people” called out of darkness, living holy amid worldly filth (Ephesians 5:8 💡🚶‍♂️).
But we run that race, Hebrews twelve one and two, 🏃‍♂️📖 – From Hebrews 12:1-2 🎯👀, enduring the race with eyes on Jesus, laying aside weights (sin) for the joy ahead.
Layin’ aside the weights, eyes on Jesus, pullin’ through. ⚖️🚫👀✝️ – Reinforces shedding hindrances for focus on Christ, the “founder and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2 🏆❤️).
Bridge Chorus
Inner beauty shines, First Peter three-three to four, 💎❤️ – Quotes 1 Peter 3:3-4 📖👗🚫, prioritizing the “hidden person of the heart” over external adornment, precious to God.
Not the outer gold, but the heart forevermore. 🏅🚫❤️ – Emphasizes imperishable inner qualities, like gentle spirit, over fleeting beauty (Proverbs 31:30 📜💄🚫).
Gentle spirit precious, in God’s lovin’ gaze, 🙏👀❤️ – From 1 Peter 3:4 🕊️💎, the “gentle and quiet spirit” as “very precious” in God’s sight.
That truck’s my reminder, through these tryin’ days. 🚚📖 – Serves as a tangible symbol of biblical truths, encouraging endurance in trials (James 1:12 🔥👑).
Verse 3
Beat-up exterior, wastin’ away outside, 🛠️😩 – Directly from 2 Corinthians 4:16 🔄💔, outer self wasting but inner renewed, like faith’s resilience.

Just like our Savior, turnin’ night into day. ✝️🌅 – Reflects Jesus turning darkness to light (John 1:5 💡🌑), redeeming trials into triumph (Romans 8:28 ❤️🛠️).
Chorus 3
Wastin’ on the outside, renewed deep within, 💔🔄 – Core of 2 Corinthians 4:16 📖❤️, outward decay vs. inward renewal.
Eternal weight of glory, where the real wins begin. 🏆🌟 – From 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 📜👀, unseen eternal glory outweighing visible troubles.

Endurin’ with Scripture, breakin’ every chain. 📖🔗🚫 – Ties to Romans 15:4 📜💪 for endurance from Scripture, and Galatians 5:1 ✝️🕊️, freedom from chains.
Chorus 4

From burdens to blessings, in that four-wheel drive, 📦🎁🚚 – Transforms loads into glory (2 Corinthians 4:17 📜🏆), driven by faith (Romans 8:28 ❤️🛣️).
We’re headin’ to glory, feelin’ fully alive. 🏆🌟🙌 – Points to eternal destination (Philippians 3:20-21 👑🚀), alive in Christ (Ephesians 2:5 ❤️💥).
Outro
Yeah, that truck’s my Bible on wheels, teachin’ me to stand, 🚚📖🛡️ – Portrays the analogy as a mobile Scripture lesson, standing firm (Ephesians 6:13 ⚔️🏃‍♂️).
Slow and steady wins, in the Master’s grand plan. 🐢🏆👑 – Echoes the tortoise principle biblically as endurance winning (Hebrews 10:36 📜🏅; Proverbs 21:5 🧠🏁).
Fade out the engine, but the message stays strong, 🔊🚫📖💪 – Like faith enduring beyond life (Hebrews 11:4 🕊️🗣️), the gospel’s eternal resonance (1 Peter 1:25 🌟📜).
