Hiding or Healing: The Human Response to Sin

When sin entered the world, humanity’s first instinct was not repentance — it was hiding.
Genesis 3 shows fear, shame, and blame replacing freedom and trust. Psalm 32 reminds us that hiding only deepens the burden of guilt, while confession brings relief and restoration. Proverbs warns that following our own way may feel right, but it leads away from life.

God’s question in the garden — “Where are you?” — was not condemnation, but invitation. Even in our failure, God seeks relationship. Healing begins when we stop running and start returning. Truth opens the door to forgiveness. Confession restores what hiding breaks.

Walking with God means choosing honesty over fear, surrender over self-justification, and grace over shame. The fracture did not end God’s pursuit — it revealed His mercy.
